The WNYRS is an educational, nonprofit organization dedicated to the cultivation and enjoyment of roses. Our society offers activities and information designed to support interested people with the care and enhancement of their rose gardens and with the enjoyment and use of roses and other rose-related products. Our group promotes the enhancement and sharing of knowledge concerning rose-related issues. Our members actively grow roses and many exhibit their roses at rose shows. Many of our club's activities and events are held in the Buffalo, NY region.

The WNYRS benefits from its relationship with other rose organizations. In particular, our society benefits from its affiliaton with the American Rose Society (ARS), a national organization. The American Rose Society has over 20,000 members and approximately 400 local chapters and affiliates throughout the country offering activities and assistance. Many of the members of these societies have been designated as Consulting Rosarians, and have agreed to assist other rose growers with their rose problems and questions.

The WNYRS hosts activities:
  • Regular Monthly Meetings
  • Annual WNY Rose Show
  • Trips to Public Gardens and Rose-Related Events
  • Invited Speakers
  • Educational and Participatory Events, e.g., Rose Growing Seminars at local nurseries
